REVIEW: I LOVE...COSMETICS BATH PRODUCTS

"I find those who can go days without bathing interesting."
I don't find it completely unacceptable. In fact, I do get it. Once you go a day or two without any water touching your body, you just feel completely comfortable that you really wouldn't mind not bathing at all or in some cases, starts to find bathing to be a bother. In my case, at least. I find this happening to me often during winter while I was living in Tokyo a few years back.
But now that I'm living in Malaysia, it's hot as hell here and not bathing is not an option. I expire so quickly that I bathe 3-4 times a day. I just have to or I'll start to smell and even I can't stand myself when that happens.
So! Since I spend a lot of time in my bathroom, bath and body products have become an essential part of my life. I, who did not even care if I was using soaps, shower gels or shower creams a few moments back, now have become very picky of what I use. I've never been a fan of soap bars though and prefers shower cream over gel. As fussy as I am, I still haven't reached the "Pure Castile Soap" level yet but I have a strong feeling that I'm getting there (very soon). Nowadays, I start with avoiding stuff with Paraben. Something "I LOVE...COSMETICS's" shower creams don't have and that's what we're gonna talk about today.
If you read my previous entry "Holiday Hauls", you would know that I bought 10 different I LOVE...COSMETICS' shower creams and gels. Unfortunately, I was told that two of the flavors were sold out and was refunded for them. So I can only present you with the 8 flavors that I have tried so far.
FirsT Impressions
The package arrived and I ravaged through it right away like a little boy on Christmas morning. Just looking at the colors of each bottle made me happy already. Oh boy oh boy! The first I did was the first thing that everyone would be expected to do and that is to sniff every single product.
So I took the first bottle, it was "Peachy Passionfruit Shower Cream" and sniffed.
Hmmmm.....
Followed by....
Huh!?
I then went on a sniffing rampage where I started sniffing one flavor scent after another and after each sniff my first thought was...
Huh!? What?
So, why this reaction?
Number 1: The cream scent was SO STRONG that it overpowers the flavoring scent of each flavor. Uh Oh. Not Good.
Number 2: Some carries a REALLY STRONG SWEET smell that gave me a headache. Uh Oh. Really Not Good.
I was disappointed, to say the least. They didn't smell the way I was expecting them to at first sniffs.
The Shower Experience
So, my first impression on all 8 flavors was NOT GOOD. But I didn't wanna give up on them yet. With so many great reviews online, I believe I must have missed out on something. So I tried showering with them.
THANKED GOD!
Once lathered onto body with a scrunch, the true identity of each smell starts to emerge making the shower experience pleasant. The shower creams lather very smoothly and feel very gentle on skin. Skin feels hydrated during lathering as well.
They also rinse off very easily leaving skin feeling plump, soft and moisturized.
The After-Shower Experience
While some people hate the idea of their bath and body products lingering around after bathing, I am just the opposite. I'd like to have the scent lingering around me for quite a bit before dissipating into thin air.

How did I LOVE...COSMETICS fair in this area?
Okay, when I use a scrunch to lather the product all over my body, I learned that the after-shower scent is not so apparent compared to when I just lather using my bare hands. This is common sense I know, DUH but I still think it's worth the observation.
So usually before bedtime, I don't use scrunches to bathe and enjoy having the scent linger on my body a little bit longer to put me in a good mood for sleep.
Now, the fun part. Let's take a look at what I think of each flavors. I'll present them based on how I ranked them starting from my most favorite to my least.
#1. raspberry & blackberry Shower Cream
My number one choice from this line so far. I love everything about it from the smell to the color of the liquid. The scent is really universal and is good on any occasion.
Scent: Smells exactly as described. It smells like fresh berries! Just wonderful. Out of the 8 flavors that I had, this one smells the strongest yet the most pleasant. Not too strong but not weak either. The scent also lingers around the longest after each shower compared to the rest. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Color: The dark red color liquid just makes it look appealing and attractive on the shelf.
I use this scent: When I want a pick-me-up! Usually in the morning or before workout! This invigorating scent just does that every single time for me!
Will I repurchase? >>> ABSOLUTELY.
#2. Peachy PassionFruit Shower Cream
I really LOVE this one. When I first sniffed it, I wasn't bought. It smelled like Vanilla Cream, too creamy for my liking. I was devastated because I really love anything that has Passion Fruit in it and was ready to fall deeply in love with this one just after discovering it. Not to mention, the only scent I like from The Body Shop was Passion Fruit and they had to discontinue it! DAMN you, Body Shop! So simply put, my expectation was high.
Although it was not love-at-first-sniff, I did come to love the scent once I started showering with it. It smells mostly like ripe Peach, SWEET but the subtle Passion Fruit smell balances it all, leaving an extremely beautiful peachy passion fruit scent just as described.
The reason why it comes second is because it's not the kind of scent that I would enjoy ALL the time. Although I realize that I've chosen this a few times more than the rest, I also realize that there are times when I go: Nah, not today.
Scent: Smells DELISH! It smells like sweet ripe peach smothered in passion fruit sauce! Just amazing. I just love how both scents compliment each other balancing the strong and subtle to create a pleasant, not too strong yet not unnoticeable scent. The scent also lingers around quite long after each shower and I just can't stop smelling myself. AWESOME!
Color: The creamy peach yellow liquid just makes it look like I'm pouring peach sauce onto my skin. Makes me feel like eating it too. >.<
I use this scent: During the day, after a workout, when I want to relax after a long day or before bed to calm me down.
Will I repurchase? >>> ABSOLUTELY.
#3. Lemon Sorbet Shower Cream
O.M.G this smells exactly like the lemon cream puffs I used to eat when I was a kid so this shower cream scent really takes me back to my childhood and for that, it's ranked third! Woohoo!
I never thought I would be applying cream puff smelling cream on my body but it's a wonderful experience every time. It smells like desserts so hey! I am not complaining.
Since I'm taking care of my diet now, lemon cream puffs can't fit into the picture but if I can't eat it, I can at least bathe with it, right? Gotta do what it takes lol >.<
Scent: Smells exactly like lemon cream puffs. Extremely yummy smelling. Helps with my sweet cravings? NO! If anything, it's making me crave for sweets even more but I'm not gonna stop using it just because of that!
Color: The light yellow colored liquid doesn't do the flavor justice imo. They should have gone with a slightly darker yellow shade.
I use this scent: When I feel for a sweet non-fruity smell or simply when I feel like it!
Will I repurchase? >>> YES
#4. Mango & Papaya Shower Cream
This smells pleasant. After all of the strong cream or fruity smell that the rest have, I come to appreciate the subtle scent of this shower cream. I do have days when I don't want to smell too strong of anything and this definitely is the answer to that concern of mine.
Scent: Smells exactly as described. It smells like Papaya mostly with a hint of Mango smell.
Color: The orange colored liquid indicates that there's more Papaya in it than Mango me thinks.
I use this scent: Usually after a workout or before bed when my mood screams for a subtle fruity smell that's not creamy like Peachy Passionfruit or Lemon Sorbet.
Will I repurchase? >>> YES
#5. Pink Marshmallow Shower Cream
Like Marshmallows, this one smells SWEEEEET! I gotta admit. I didn't like it at first. The scent gave me a slight headache when I first sniffed it and it still smells so strong while lathering BUT! the after-shower smell is AMAZING!
I smell like a Candy Store! I know. Not the kind of smell anyone would normally go for but I gotta say I'm digging this smell. Again, reminds me of my childhood...and my obese days but let's just focus on the happy memories, shall we?
Scent: Smells like CANDY!!! Lollipop Lollipop Lolli Lolli Lolli Lollipop!
Color: The Barbie Pink colored screams "SWEET" and "CANDY". Perfect description of the content inside.
I use this scent: Before a workout! This scent puts me in a good mood which allows me to go into overdrive!
Will I repurchase? >>> MAYBE
#6. Coconut & Cream Shower Cream
Ahhh Coconuts!!!! I love coconut smell especially coconut milk and this DEFINITELY SMELLS LIKE IT!>.< It smells like Coconut Ice Cream I swear to God. Smells good enough to eat for God's sake!
However, there are two things that made it low ranked. The after-shower scent and the fact that it gave me headaches!
First off, lets talk about the after-shower scent. It's just not as pleasant as I wanted it to be. It's not strong enough! I know some of you who have tried might say "WHAT? How strong do you want it to be?" Urm, REALLY STRONG I guess like coconut oil.
Nevertheless, the coconut smell is not distinct enough even after lathering a lot on my body. I don't know if the scent is made to appear subtle or my body is just not picking up the scent. Either way, Dang it! I was hoping for a more coconutty after-shower scent but it appears to be way subtle for my liking. What a shame!! I wanted this to be ranked #1 actually.
Next, lets talk about the headache it gives me. Okay, like Pink Marshmallow, this one gives me headaches despite the not-so-strong scent. There's some kind of sweetness to it that's bothering me for some reason.
This makes my showering experience not very enjoyable.
Scent: Smells like Coconut Ice Cream but not strong enough for my liking. Too bad.
Color: The white colored liquid really reminded me of coconut milk. Wished the smell lived up to it too though. T.T
I use this scent: When I want a subtle smell other than Mango & Papaya for a change.
Will I repurchase? >>> NO
#7. Strawberry & Cream Shower Cream
I've never been a fan of Strawberry scented products. Just. don't. like. them. I was hoping that this product can convert me but it was no success. I still don't like Strawberry scented stuff. So I'm biased towards this one I gotta say. I still use it though. When I get bored of other scents, as a mood change, I shower with this sometimes.
Scent: Smells like Strawberry ice cream. Nothing special. Not my kind of smell.
Color: The light pink colored liquid is as dull as it's scent to me.
I use this scent: When I want a change of mood.
Will I repurchase? >>> NO
#8. Minty choco chip Shower Gel
Okay, I didn't purchase this for the scent to be honest. I purchased it because it comes in a 750 ml size bottle and the twin pack only cost me RM15 so it was a bargain.
I LOVE chocolate smell but HATE mint smell and I never like anything Chocolate Mint, be it Mint Chocolate ice cream or Mint Chocolate bars, NO, NU'UH! BUT! I told myself "Hey! Try to keep an open mind, you might just like it". BUT I DIDN'T!
So I use this as my hand and feet wash.
Scent: Smells like Mint Chocolate. Not something I want my whole body to smell like.
Color: The green colored liquid reminds me of Mint and I'm not digging it. Pretty color though.
I use this scent: For washing my hands and feet.
Will I repurchase? >>> NO
So there you have it!
My experience with I LOVE...COSMETICS' products has been a pleasant one despite some unsuccessful products of theirs.
Looking forward to trying out other flavors including those that I missed this time around, Watermelon and Tangerine. I bet they smell nice!
Watch out I LOVE...COSMETICS! I'm planning my next batch of flavors already.
