Another one of my first. My first impression of fish oil was "YUCK!".

I like fish meat but the oil? HmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmNU'UH!

But since fish oil is one of the highly recommended supplement for fitness and health, I bought myself a bottle.

Presenting StemLabs's Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg Soft Gel Capsule!

Yup, there's 360 capsules inside and it's the cheapest in town. Costing me only RM70 from LAZADA.

I can choose to take this for a whole year by consuming one capsule a day or 6 months by consuming 2 a day or as prescribed by StemLabs, by consuming 3 a day for 120 days.

Since I'm new to fish oils, I read online that I should start with one capsule a day and observe if I experience any stomach discomfort or anything of the sort.

So I consumed my first capsule 2 days ago (Friday, 6/1/2017) and here's my observation so far.

1st day: After consuming a capsule in the morning before food, I experienced some stomach discomfort. It even made me felt nauseated. I slept it off and woke up feeling completely fine and energized a few hours later. Also experienced a lot of belching but there's no fishy aftertaste in my mouth so thanked God.

2nd day: I consumed one capsule after food yesterday and I didn't feel any discomfort what so ever. I felt fine and in fact, my knee pain from my workouts the day before has disappeared. Hurrah! Not sure whether it's because of this or the vitamins but I felt good. I didn't experience much belching this day and no fishy aftertaste either.

Today: I just had a capsule earlier on without food. Okay, I felt the discomfort yet again in my stomach. I didn't feel like puking though. I also drank the vitamin pill without food. That could be the cause too. There's no belching today, yeay! No fishy aftertaste too.

Verdict: My observation tells me that Fish oils and Vitamins SHOULD be consumed with FOOD. Actually I just realized that the instruction from the vitamin bottle says "consume with food" while the bottle from the fish oil says "preferably with food". Great.... No wonder I kept getting stomach discomfort when I drank them before breakfast.

All in all, I like the fish oil so far. It doesn't have a fishy aftertaste, kept me feeling energized throughout the day and helped treat my knee pain as well. Oh it also helps induce sleep. I realized this when I took it on the first day. My Microsoft Band 2 detected that my quality sleep hours increased. I felt extremely rested too.

If I had known, I'd have started earlier. But it's never too late I guess. >.<
