MY REVIEW
OVERALL VERDICT >>>>> LOVE
RATING >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5
My skin type:
Dry/Combination Oily (T-zone), Uneven skin tone with lots of freckles on cheeks. Also, sensitive around the cheek area.
Just a note:
I generally do not wear make up except for sunscreen. On a daily basis, it's only my skin care and sunscreen, that's all.
How long have I used this:
Since a year ago starting from a small 5ml sample.
Will I purchase:
YES.
At first I didn't like it.
The consistency compared to Blanc-Chroma and Anti/Oxi is much thicker. It was a bit hard to emulsify at first I felt. So I immediately assumed that it's going to be hard to wash off. But I was wrong. It is in fact easy to rinse off and not at all messy compared to the aforementioned two. Plus, it is not at all oily. Yes, I was one of those people who had the impression that my skin is going be really oily after using cleansing oils. >.<
The smell was not to my liking at first but it grew on me. It's not the kind of smell that made me go "Ohhh Ahhh" at the first sniff and I'm still not crazy about it but the calming scent from the combined botanical oils makes it perfect for a relaxing At-Home-SPA-Day.
Not to mention the results are phenomenal.
Compared to the aforementioned two, this one really produces results. First of all, it really cleanses! There was one night when I wore a lot of make up which in my standard would be adding mascara, eye liner, primer, BB cream and lipstick to my daily regimen. Still not heavy if compared to some but to me it's really a lot! But at the end of the night, I just needed 3 pumps of this to remove all of my make up starting from my eyes to my face and lips. It cleansed my face like I wasn't wearing make up at all to begin with.
I usually double cleanse every time I wear make up but to test if my face was really clean with less residue left after only using ULTIME8, I used a cotton pad soaked in toner. Only the residue from the eyeliner or mascara was apparent on the cotton pad. Which means, the make up I applied on my face and lips seemed to look like it's 99% removed. It's fascinating, not a dot of BB cream or lipstick left really. As for the eyes, hey, considering that it's always hard to remove eye makeup through one washing, the fact that it manages to remove 90% of it is great enough. Amazing stuff really.
After washing, skin is left noticeably clean and soft, energized, glowing and plump. After using this everyday for about a month and a half, I see significant difference in my skin tone. It looks way more even and healthy. No wonder the promoter told me it's a complete anti aging cleansing oil. It's hydrating enough to be used as a cleanser as well. What more can one ask for?
I fell in love instantly after sampling it and purchased myself the 450ml bottle right away once I finished my sample bottle. This is really a MUST HAVE for me and I believe it will continue to be unless I found something better.
PROS
Hydrating and not drying at all.
Texture is slightly thick, so the emulsified liquid didn't drip.
Skin feels clean and soft.
Non-greasy, non-oily.
Removes make-up efficiently.
2-in-1: Overal make-up remover and facial cleanser.
Well known, considerably easy-to-find brand.
Results are evident! Skin feel very clean and soft after use. Skin tone became even and looks younger and glowing.
CONS
Skin must be dry prior to using (I wash my face the first thing, so yeah...)
Has a thicker texture compared to the other two, which makes it harder to emulsify.
Don't hate but not really crazy about the smell.
More expensive than other Shu Uemura cleansing oils.
